Mrs. Addie Green Hill Medford, 87, of Shelby, went to her heavenly home on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Baxter and Mary Sue Green Millwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles W. Hill, and her second husband Ransom Medford; her son, Gary Dale Hill; 2 infant sons, James Dennis Hill and Donald Eric Hill; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hill; and 3 brothers, Bobby Green, Carl Green, and Terry Wilkie. She retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. She was a wonderful Mother and Maw-Maw who was always there for her family. She was known for her baking and decorated Addie Cakes.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Hill of Mooresboro, and Alan Hill and wife Barbara of Shelby; her daughter-in-law, Donna Hill of Shelby; her grandchildren, Dusty Wayne Hill of Lattimore, Gary Ryan Hill of Garner, Austin Dale Hill of Atlanta, and Alex Hunter Hill of Hickory; her 2 great grandchildren, Nolan and Chloe; her sister, Betty Green Upton of Mill Spring; her brother, M.C. Green of Ellenboro; 3 half sisters, Patricia Splawn, Brenda Toney and Linda Toney; and 2 half brothers, David Green and Samuel Green; her stepdaughters, Teresa Medford and Cynthia Wallace; and many nieces and nephews.
Addie will lie in state from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home for those who would like to come by and sign the register book.
A private Graveside Service will be held for the family at the First Broad Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ryan Hill, Austin Hill, Alex Hill, and Charles Green.
Memorials may be made to Campfield Memorial Baptist Church, 369 Campfield Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
