Mr. Bryan Dorsey, 59, of Shiloh, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of Nell Melton of Bostic and the late Doug Dorsey.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Josh Dorsey. Bryan worked with many NASCAR teams over the years, including Jimmy Means Racing, Bud Moore Racing, Andy Petree Racing, Jimmy Spencer Racing, Phoenix Racing, and was currently at JD Motorsports in Gaffney. Bryan had recently celebrated 10 years sobriety.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Alisa Dorsey of Forest City; his companion, Donna Greathouse; his brothers, Mark Dorsey and wife Michele of Shiloh, and Kent Dorsey and wife Carol, of Bostic; his 2 grandchildren, Caleb McGill and Peyton Mace; a niece and several nephews.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Keys Pendleton will officiate. Pallbearers are Keith Price, Mike Suhy, Curtis Davis, Tyler Dorsey, Jason Philbeck, and Brad Means. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Means, Johnny Davis, and Larry Burns.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
Memorials may be made to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, NC 27317.

I am so very sorry to hear of Bryan's passing. I met him while working with a NASCAR team in 1982. Came to know him well, and appreciated him for his talent and his spirit. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Alisa, Hippie's brothers, and Donna- I am so sorry for your loss. Hippie was unique, multitalented, and I have been proud to call him a friend. He was so much fun to be around and never took things too seriously. I know this is a great loss for all of you.

We had the wonderful privilege of knowing Hippie when we were affiliated with the Jimmy Means race team in the early nineties. He was one of nicest guys always friendly and happy! Don’t think he ever met a stranger!

Alisa, So sorry for your loss! Hippie will be very missed by alot of people. I am so glad to have known him. Yesterday I reflected back to all the great times we had at the races when my Dad was on Jimmy Means race team. He always had everyone laughing! Sending you and your family my sincere sympathy.

I was very saddened to hear of Hippie's passing. I had the privilege of working with a great group of guys at Andy Petree Racing, and Hippie was one of the best, he always had a big smile and kept us laughing.
I will be keeping his loved ones in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. He will never be forgotten...
